“Even the sky cries, predictable in the way it mourns the sun.”
Lauren, this is beautiful. I think there’s always a writer’s plague in only seeing the flaws of your work. I am the same way with my artwork that I paint. It’s because everyone else only sees the final product, whereas you saw the work, the drafts, the rewrites, etc. Someone on the internet called them “artist scars.” We can’t look past them, despite our best attempts to cover them up.
I would love to have a book that’s inspired on your own love story. I think it’s a beautiful, delicate thing and it’s so honorable to feel so loved in life.
I lost my sun nearly a year ago now. I am coping, but I am predictable in the way I cry, as I mourn my sun.
Your poetry speaks to my grief. Your words hold me while no one else does. Most of all, they give me a reason to stay tethered to this world instead of taking myself out, because they remind me how much there is still left to live for. ❤️🩹
Lauren, I truly am in awe by every word you said, it’s beautifully described.. and it’s All so true! Thank you for sharing this with us. For giving us a glimpse of your work over and over again, I’m forever grateful!💐💐
